People are starting to get mad...real mad about the things Obama is trying to do. Take this video where Kathleen Sebelius and Arlen Specter are trying to sell Obamacare at a townhall meeting:
Or this video where Congressman Lloyd Doggett is chanted away from his speaking engagement on health care:

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Obamacare' since the White House doesn't have a plan of its own.
I'll just assume you mean any plan with a public option. I'm not sure if you've seen any polling on the issue, but one can hardly argue that the public option is unpopular. Polling I've seen puts support at anywhere from 76-60%. The GOP polling firm Resurgent Republic found that 46% of Republicans support a public option.
So why do some Republicans think it will be the end of the world (or at least act like it)? To answer this, we need to look at another poll.
Research 2000 did a poll asking people if they thought Barack Obama was a citizen or not. 93% of Democrats said yes. 83% of Independents said yes. 84% of non-voters said yes.
Only 42% of the Republican Party said yes!!- clearly far, far out of the mainstream. This shows that a sizeable chunk of the Republican party, sadly, is either poorly informed, or just stone-cold crazy. Either way, one should not trust these people's opinions.
It is my belief that the half of the Republican Party that supports, or would at least consider, a public option is pretty much the same half that believes Obama is a citizen: reasonable, thoughtful, realistic. The other half that believes a public option will destroy America is the same half that believes Obama is an illegal immigrant: certifiably insane.
They can have their revolution if they want. I'll bring the tinfoil hats.
Wow that turned out better than I thought it would...
Lindstrom, let's get drunk some night and see if we can't hammer out a compromise.
This guy's poll numbers are falling faster than Carter's.
his healthcare plan is chaotic.
Braden --
The latest Gallop USA poll (a real poll) shows that Americans now disapprove of the way Obama is handling health care--- 50 percent to 44 percent.
59 percent say the president is spending too much money and 52 percent oppose his dramatic expansion of the federal government.
The Wall Street Journal recently called Obama's plan for health care one of the worst pieces of legislation ever introduced by Congress.
That poll and the piece in the Wall Street Journal are interesting, since Obama has submitted no plan to Congress, nor endorsed any of the plans moving through Congress. So I'm really curious how they can approve or disaprove of something that doesn't exist.
Every other developed nation in the world has a public health care plan (we do to, for veterans, the disabled, elderly, etc.). No nation that has adopted one has ever switched back to an entirely private system. I wonder why that is?
And for the record, I disaprove of Obama's handling of the issue as well. He should have created his own plan, and told Democrats to vote for it or he would find a primary challenger to run against them.
